Aromatic herbs

Ligurian cuisine is renowned for its freshness, its colors and its aromas… but do you know why? If the answer is no then you are in the right place, we are about to reveal the secret to you!

For centuries, there has been a mysterious ingredient that has been added to most meals, giving a touch of freshness: we are talking about aromatic herbs!

Among the most loved and used herbs there is basil, a true symbol of ligurian cuisine. Its green leaves are the basis of famous dishes such as pesto, but also tomato sauces and bruschette.

Then there is parsley, also the protagonist of many ligurian recipes: from fish dishes to focacce, its leaves always give an extra edge to the taste!

We cannot forget rosemary, which with its intense aroma gives that overwhelming flavor to dishes such as ligurian rabbit and the classic (but iconic) baked potatoes.

These are just some of the aromatic herbs that make ligurian cuisine unique. But the list could go on with thyme, sage, marjoram and oregano, in short, there are aromatic herbs for all tastes!
